Rajesh Kumar, PhD, is Professor and Head of the Postgraduate Department of English, as well as Dean, Humanities, at Nilamber-Pitamber University, Medininagar (Daltonganj), Jharkhand. He is a renowned author and translator with a large number of research and creative articles in national and international journals to his credit. He made his debut as a writer with a volume of poems. His books include Paul Scott and His India, The Escape and Other Stories, and Voices from the Margin: The Dalit Face in the Indian English Novel. He has also translated seminal Hindi novels like Sanjeev’s ‘Jungle Jahan Shuroo Hota Hai’ into The Jungle Within, Mahua Maji’s ‘Main, Borishailla’ into Me, Borishailla and Ranendra’s ‘Golbal Gaanv Ke Devta’ into Gods of Global Village. Me, Borishailla is on the curriculum of a renowned foreign university. His books have come from various prestigious publication houses. He has also been associated in several projects with Cengage India. He was the editor of TLV, a research journal for English literature and language, an official publication of the University Department of English, Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribag. Office bearer and member on several national and international bodies, Professor Kumar’s first loves are teaching and creative writing.
