From the very beginning, it has been realized that the best exploration of technology is based on the better understanding of fundamental principles of sciences. In view of this universal fact, we are happy to present this book for the undergraduate students of science and engineering. In this book, the subject matter has been explained in adequate detail including the syllabi of many Indian technological universities. This book gives a balanced account of the fundamentals of physics as well as some of the recent developments in this area best suited to the engineering applications.
