Jeff Butterfield

Dr. Jeff Butterfield holds a PhD from the University of Texas-Austin and an MBA from Indiana University, and currently is a faculty member in the Information Systems department at Western Kentucky University. Previously, Dr. Butterfield worked as electronics engineer with several Fortune 500 companies. He quickly discovered that his writing and public-speaking abilities contributed much more to his professional success than his technical skills. This important discovery has significantly influenced his teaching and Dr. Butterfield has spent more than 15 years in higher education helping technical students develop professional skills. As technology becomes more tightly integrated with business functions, students with well-developed soft skills will enjoy a strong competitive advantage. Gajendra Singh Chauhan

Gajendra Singh Chauhan is Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, India. He specializes in Applied Linguistics, Advertising Communication, and Media Writing with a focus on linguistics of advertising in India. His contributions to the literature include six books, scores of scholarly articles, and talks on All India Radio.

 

Smita Kashiramka

Smita Kashiramka is Assistant Professor in the Department of Management Studies, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. She specializes in Corporate Finance and Indian Financial System. She has contributed many research papers in national and international journals and conferences of repute. She has also undertaken projects and consultancy assignments for the government and corporate sector and has been delivering lectures at several academic institutions across the country.

 

L. Thimmesha

L. Thimmesha is Assistant Professor and HoD of English and Humanities at Government Engineering College, Hassan, Karnataka. Dr Thimmesha specialized in English Language communication skills, modern advanced grammar, and 20th century science and social fiction in English literature. He has been member of Board of studies and Board of examination and special invitee to many universities and academic institutions across Karnataka for delivering lectures. Prof. Thimmesha has contributed many research papers in national and international journals and conferences.

 

Mallika Nawal

Dr. Mallika Nawal is presently an advocate, practicing civil and criminal law. Before joining the Bar, Dr. Nawal spent 12 years in academia, having taught at institutes like the Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar, S.P. Jain Centre of Management, Dubai/Singapore and at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, where she conducted courses in oral business communication, written business communication, grooming and corporate etiquette. Dr. Nawal also served as Associate Editor for Vilakshan, XIMB’s bi-annual research journal and is also a prolific novelist and columnist for various national and international magazines.

 

Meenakshi Raman

Meenakshi Raman is Professor of English and Communication and was formerly heading the  Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Pilani and Goa Campuses of BITS Pilani till July 2017. With 25 years of teaching at BITS Pilani, Dr. Raman has authored 17 books on Professional Communication and English Language Skills. Many of her books are being adopted as textbooks by various universities in India. She has guided several Ph.D. students, published over 60 research articles and presented several papers at international conferences in India and countries abroad. Dr. Raman has been conducting workshops at several institutions in India for enhancing the soft skills of students and professionals.

 

Shalini Upadhyay

Shalini Upadhyay is Assistant Professor in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences BITS Pilani, K.K. Birla Goa Campus, India. She joined BITS Goa Campus in 2005 and has more than 18 years of experience. She is an expert in communication, presentation design, and public speaking. She imparts training and coaching to senior executives, leaders and CXOs to transform their communication and presentation skills.  She is an inventor and has filed two patents. She has authored two books on communication and multiple research papers for conferences and journals of repute. As Principal Director, she has successfully executed the research project funded by Indian Council of Social Science Research, Ministry of HRD. She is on the board of research committee of various educational universities. She keeps herself busy by supervising her Ph.D. scholars, coaching and training people, reviewing and writing research papers and authoring books. She has co-founded a start-up, NGO “mPower”, which imparts awareness about the government policies for the citizens of India. She is an active runner and participates in marathons.
